Simple meal preparation tips from a certified nutritionist

At Bombbar, we’ve partnered with Aliki Christina, a certified nutritionist based in the UAE, to share simple and practical nutrition recommendations that can easily become part of your everyday routine.

Meal prep doesn’t have to be complicated. Her approach is based on one simple formula for building a balanced meal.

1. Start with protein

Choose a good source of protein such as chicken, eggs, fish, beef, or tofu if you prefer plant-based options.

For busy days when you’re on the go, a protein bar can also be a convenient option, especially when you’re craving something sweet but still want to keep your macros on track.

2. Fill half your plate with vegetables

Aim to make at least half of your plate vegetables. They provide fiber as well as important vitamins and minerals, while helping create a more balanced and satisfying meal.

3. Add healthy fats

Include a source of healthy fat such as avocado, olive oil, or nuts. Healthy fats make meals more satisfying and can help you stay full for longer.

4. Add carbohydrates based on your needs

Complete your meal with a carbohydrate source such as rice, sweet potatoes, or potatoes. There isn’t one amount that works for everyone. Christina recommends adjusting your carbohydrate portion depending on your activity level and individual goals.

Keep it simple and consistent

Healthy eating doesn’t have to be perfect. Aliki’s main recommendation is simple: focus on balanced meals, make choices that work for your lifestyle, and stay consistent.
